 I like the fact that you can see the detail in the wheel and your eye first goes to the wheel then the man. There isnt much contrast but a lot of detail. There is also a high depth of field because everything is in focus.

This photograph became an icon of the machine age, not only because it was printed as the cover of the first issue of life  November 23, 1936 but also because it showed the power of modern technology
